The Blacklist

I intend to put this story on the fast-track because I love writing action stories.

Codename: Ivan G. Nemone anagram for "No Name Given" is a hitman. Or an assassin. Or a contrack killer. Whatever you want to call him, he's a damn good one. He never misses his target, especially not with his trusty Barrett .50 Cal Sniper Rifle that he has named "Colin."

His employer, A.I, or Antagonists Incorporated, is a worldwide organization with over seven-thousand five-hundred assassins in its payroll. Its director, Gabe I. Shuthedy, is extensively proud of Ivan's numerous successful hits, and has awarded him one of the biggest assignments in A.I. history.

But, when he sets Colin up in an office building almost half a mile away from where the very, very important target is making a speech, he is suddenly attacked. Within a split second, he is under heavy fire from almost every direction. He makes a run for it, firing Colin at the assailants behind him without using the scope, hitting them each time. After only three shots, however, he runs out of ammo.

In a last ditch effort, he puts Colin on his sling, takes out two .50 Desert Eagles, runs at a window and jumps through it, firing his pistols at the attackers as he falls. In an implausible turn of events, a sports car jumps from a conveniently placed ramp near the skyscraper and flies through the air -- right under Ivan. He lands in the backseat of the sports car, which immediately lands safely on the nearby freeway.

The driver, his extremely loyal contact, Gill H. Keedset, informs him that he has been placed on the Blacklist -- a roster of assassins who the organization believes have either overstayed their welcome, lost their edge, or are simply wanted dead.

Shocked at the information, Ivan orders his contact to take him to another assassin, Hutley H. Gavidett. He has survived the Blacklist more than once after being placed on it for blowing his cover on an assignment. He is still on the run from the organization.

Ivan intends to find out who put him on the Blacklist and why, no matter how much blood must be spilt, no matter how many people must be silenced, no matter how many bullets must be fired.

If you can't tell from the description, this will be a story that is similar to films such as Wanted, Shoot 'Em Up, and Crank: High Voltage. Meaning, extremely outrageous and implausible action that goes so over-the-top, it circumnavigates the globe and goes over it again.

Also, can you guess what Gabe I. Shuthedy, Gill H. Keedset, and Hutley H. Gavidett are anagrams for?

Re: The Blacklist

Ooh, action-y. I could actually see everything play out in my mind. This sounds like it should be awesome.

Sorry if that was short, I just couldn't think of much to say. That was really good, I'm just a little...tired, I guess.

Re: The Blacklist

Gabe I. Shuthedy is an anagram for "He is the bad guy."

Hutley H. Gavidett is an anagram for "The guy that lived."

Gill H. Keedset is an anagram for "He gets killed."

Re: The Blacklist

The unofficial theme to this story will be "Hellbent" by Groove Addicts. If you listen to this song and don't think of kickass action movie scenes, your mind is on the fritz.

Re: The Blacklist

In one of my lower notes, I haven't even started writing The Blacklist, but I've already started brainstorming a sequel called The Killcount.

It would involve the Top 25 assassins put on the Blacklist not being killed, but captured and put into a kill-or-be-killed tournament. The winner will take the combined value of each assassin in the tournament, usually totaling over $3,000,000,000. Not only that, but they will also be given Blacklist Immunity, meaning they will not be able to be blacklisted ever again.

Ivan G. Nemone will return and there will be several new characters. It will continue the tradition of anagrammatic naming of characters.

Re: The Blacklist

I feel really bad about disappearing/not commenting on any of your story threads. ^^' But, I have time right now, so I shall try to comment on some shtuff that I haven't commented on of yours.

Thinking about the sequel before you've even started the original? ...I do this all the time. =P You just get ideas in your head, and before you know it, you've got a whole 'nother story planned before you've even written the first chapter of the first one.

Anywho, I like the idea. I especially love the whole "never be able to be blacklisted again" thing.

I hate that I have absolutely no constructive critisim, but I honestly can't think of anything. ^^'

Re: The Blacklist

Thanks for taking the time to post.

I have also begun to brainstorm a THIRD installment, which will be the last. I can't give any details without spoiling everything, but I can tell you that it will be called The Mindlock and that it will involve a rescue mission. I won't say who is being rescued, though.

I'm only brainstorming this one because I want to be able to call it The Blacklist Trilogy so I can release a box set.

I was also thinking that it would work much better as a graphic novel rather than a book.

Re: The Blacklist

That makes sense, this story as a graphic novel. It seems as though you're going to have a lot of pure action parts, and although not impossible, that's harder to portray that kinda stuff through words. Yeah, I really like that idea, this in graphic novel form.

Ooh, I like that title. "The Mindlock." I forgot to say what I thought about the other sequel's title...I love that one, "The Killcount." It really rolls off the tongue.

Re: The Blacklist

The only problem with the graphic novel idea would be the cost. I'd have to hire, like, illustrators and stuff. I don't have the money for that!

Re: The Blacklist

"Hellbent" is just kinda like the thing that would play in the trailer for The Blacklist, if it were a movie. The "trailer theme" to The Killcount is "Letting You" by Nine Inch Nails. The "trailer theme" to The Mindlock is "Mind Heist" by Zack Hemsey.
