Respect Others
Animation Insider has a lot of forum members with many different opinions, lifestyles, and religious beliefs. It is essential to your membership that you have respect for other people's opinions, especially the ones that differ from your own. You do not have to agree with those beliefs, but you must respect them.

No one is exempt from this rule, including forum staff, and any instance of disrespect should be brought to the administration staff for review.

Debates are intellectual, academic, and researched arguments or confrontations about an ideal subject; constructive debates are welcomed within their respectable sub-forums. Debating someone does not mean telling them they don't have the right to feel the way they do.

Language and Speech
Since animation tends to attract persons of a younger nature, we must be considerate of the language we use around others. Minor offensive words will simply be replaced with bullets, however extreme cases of "beating the system" or offensive speech may be met with more harsh punishment.

Any language used by a member to insult, degrade, or demean anyone, not matter the situation, will result in at least in a warning or banning, depending on the severity. Any such behavior, including trolling, will also result in an immediate banning. Additionally, any vulgar posting, especially of the sexual kind, will result in an immediate banning.

As a common courtesy to other members, the staff asks that you do your best to use proper grammar in your posting. Things like complete sentences, commas, periods, and capital letters are important when talking to others on the internet. Using excessive shorthand, run-on sentences, and the like makes it difficult for others to understand you. It doesn't matter how intelligent your post is: if it's illegible, no one reads it or cares what it says. As such, the staff reserves the right to edit your post for spelling and grammar as needed.

Personal Information and Seeking Assistance
It is not recommended that any user post information that is personal to his or her life and it is not recommended that a user post seeking advice or aid for emotional scarring. A good web page for helping individuals with a troubling personal life is SelfGrowth.com.

What is Spam?
Spam is the incessant posting of useless, irrelevant, and unrelated material within any given topic. Spam includes (but not limited to); creating a topic whose purpose is to promote a personal web page, creating a topic or thread with no real intention of having an proactive/practical discussion, as well as breaking the flow of a discussion with posts containing text that indicates screaming, yelling, and relentless cursing.

Downloading and Piracy
We also do not permit discussion of illegal activity, which includes ROM files, P2P programs like KaZaA and iMesh and fansubs/bootlegs. This is not the place to post exchanging information on where to obtain illegal copies of anything. Any discussion attempting to undermine copyright protection will be forwarded to authorities at our discretion.

Multiple Accounts
Members may have no more than 1 account on this forum. Users who have more than one account should contact and administrator to have their accounts merged into one. Persons discovered to have more than one account will have all of their accounts disabled.

Versus and RPG Threads
Threads of an Item A vs Item B nature as well as RPG threads are not allowed and will be removed without warning.

Couples Threads
Threads or posts with the sole intention of pairing two characters in a romantic relationship are not allowed. This is known as "coupling" or "shipping" (relationshipping) and is not allowed. Discussing the relationships of couples is allowed, making up couples where none officially exists is not.

Private Messaging
Animation Insider provides for each member the ability to send private messages to other members. Each message acts like any post on the forums, and must follow the rules of the forums. As such, contact other members politely. If you are being personally attacked or harassed through the PMing system, please forward the offending message to a staff member.

Furthermore, the PM system is NOT a substitute for e-mail or chat clients. Every private message takes up space on the forums. So please use the system sparingly; either to continue a discussion that would be considered off topic in a certain thread, or to speak with the staff, but not for chatting
