I was debating whether to put this here or in Community Center. He worked on live-action films, but his focus was on fantastic stop-motion.

Though his on-screen credit was often simply "technical effects" or "special visual effects," Mr. Harryhausen usually played a principal creative role in the films featuring his work. He frequently proposed the initial concept, scouted the locations and shaped the story, script, art direction and design around his ideas for fresh ways to amaze an audience.

Okay, let's talk about the new series.

I actually like it. The Titans are still the same characters that fans of the original series know and love. The dialogue and character interaction is as funny as ever, which makes it pretty fun to watch. Kids should like it because it's colorful and silly. Longtime fans should enjoy it because, well, it's still Teen Titans... only much cuter.

My ONLY complaint so far is the look of the show. It literally hurts my adult eyes! I'm not kidding. For some reason, the creators decided to use "warm" looking colors for all the characters and everything around them. It just looks so strikingly vibrant as a result. It's reminiscent of a show like My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, only worse, IMO.

The character designs themselves are fine, although I preferred the chibi designs from the New Teen Titans animated shorts. Not to mention that the colors in those animated shorts had a more pleasant "cool" look and feel (just like the original series). After watching Teen Titans Go!, I can't stop seeing bright green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, light blue, etc. Those colors are now burned into my retinas for the time being. Thanks, Cartoon Network.

Overall, it's a decent new show. It's an even more kid friendly series than the original, but it's still Teen Titans. Not everyone is going to like it, but I like it. Sometimes, TV shows don't have to be very deep to be enjoyable. Teen Titans Go! is simple fun for a half-hour. This may be a show that I will learn to love once I get used to those damn colors.

EDIT: Very short intros seem to be the norm these days, so I'm glad that at least a portion of the Teen Titans theme song was used in the new series' intro. Also, I just remembered that Raven was watching a show that was an obvious parody of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. So yeah, maybe that explains the warm, vibrant colors.

According to The Animation Guild's blog, Fox has cancelled The Cleveland Show after 4 seasons and 88 episodes. Six remaining episodes will air over the next month, with a 2-part finale scheduled for May 19.

So I want to get everyone's opinion on voting in the United States. Personally, I have never voted, never registered, and never plan to unless a candidate really grabs my attention and shares my views. Now, a lot of people consider this "un-American" and attempt to guilt me (and anyone else who shares my opinion) into voting by stating that many people died for my right to vote. Yes, they did, and they also died for my right to choose NOT to. It's supposed to be the land of the free, so if I don't want to choose between two awful politicians then I won't- simple as that. I do not feel it's right to choose between two evils. What is everyone else's opinion on this?

Dreamworks Creates New Series with Netflix

Dreamworks is teamin' up Netflix to create a new series based on their upcomin' movie, "Turbo".

News

They must have some real confidence in it, to agree to a series even before the movie has premiered and the box-office results are in.

'Specially considerin' that they just announced they'd maybe cut up to a quarter of their workforce.

Hopefully this will provide some revenue stream (though to be honest, the premise of the movie, I personally think, doesn't seem like Dreamworks' best, and I wonder how they can create a series outta it...but then again, I haven't seen it yet, so...)
