I'm not playing much at the moment. Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition has been soaking up most of my time. So much so, I have developed quite the backlog of games that I've yet to begin playing.

I've been having quite the identity crisis not to mention I got bodied by my brother-in-law last weekend. It's been a long time since I found myself getting upset at games and last weekend I was practically furious. I had to hide it though .

My strongest character right now is Cody. And even then, against my brother-in-law's Ryu and Ken (I think I got lucky against his Akuma) I don't think there's much I can do because I think they have more priority on their moves, and then I have to work on my execution. My execution really pissed me off. My Ultra wasn't working at all (I play on pad. Tried switching to stick and I'm just not comfortable with it), and then blocking and tic throwing wasn't working that good for me either.

Anyway, I've also been toying around with Evil Ryu and Oni. Very fun characters, especially Oni. But right now the main characters I'm focusing on working on is Cammy and Rose (I will still use Cody from time to time).

FIFA 12. I'm playing Manager Mode, trying to get Port Vale promoted from npower league 2 --> npower league 1 --> npower championship --> Barclay's Premier League, it's a bummer

Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's WC2011: Into the Nexus
I'm not a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh at all, at least, not anymore (but it was the cause of me getting into message boards in the 1st place). Anyway, I beat the a long time ago. I'm just trying to unlock these World Championship packs. If anything, I treat this game as a time killer.

Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition
This time it was 3 of us in Endless Battle. Me, my brother-in-law, and his friend. For the most part my brother-in-law and I were getting bodied, but at the same time they were fairly close battles. I did manage to beat him and even got on a 3-4 game winning streak. I won with Rose, Cammy, Cody, Oni, and Juri (of all people..). What I learned this time is that I need to have patience. Also, I still need to cover the basics, because, if I learn proper spacing and footsies, and when to tic-throw, my brother-in-law would definately have a tougher time. I sad part is I see every single mistake he's doing, I just don't know how to punish properly for those mistakes. So, what I'm hoping for during this week and the week after I get back from Vegas (going to EVO) is to just spend 2-3 hours in training/trial mode (if I can actually commit to it) and work on spacing, footsies, and some basic bread and butter combos along with basic punish combos. But for the most part, unlike like last time, this time I was actually having more fun.

Batman: Arkham City (GotY)
While I am enjoying it, especially more than Arkham Asylum (I didn't care for that), but to be honest, the closer I get to the endgame the more I find myself becoming tired of it and almost catching myself from saying this game is falling flat. I think after I fought with [spoiler]Ra's al Ghul[/spoiler] (probably the best and my favorite fight in the game so far) is where I'm thinking this game was beginning to fall apart. Like Arkham Asylum, it's no Devil May Cry (perhaps my favorite game/series of all time at the moment) nor is it Assassin's Creed (probably my 2nd favorite), but I'd say it falls somewhere between the 2. And much like my issue with Arkham Asylum, I'm beginning to have the same issues here, which I can't explain that well. It's like Rocksteady decided to play it safe when it came to both the stealth parts along with the beat em up parts, and it kind of feels "bleh" at this point. It's not a bad game by any means though.

Ever since I got back from EVO 2012 most of my gaming time has been spent on this and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. While I don't plan to enter in any tournies, I'd still like to get better, especially since I plan on going to EVO from here on out mainly to learn stuff. And since it's just 3 of us playing, I'd like to be the better of the 3 (If anyone else like to play as well, don't hesitate to ask for my PSN and I'll post it.). I'm only playing casually, but in terms of actually learning the game I'm taking it more serious. I'm still having a bit of an identity crisis. I'm still using Rose for the most part, but now I dropped Juri, Cammy, and Oni. I won't say I dropped Cody because he is still my best character by far, but I am a bit tired of him. I don't have as much fun when I use him. I went back to Guy only to drop him once again. Truthfully, I might pick him up for more of a fun purpose instead of actually trying to learn him in and out. At the moment now, my main characters are Rose, Ibuki and Yun. I'm using Rose because I'm still learning the game and she seems to be basic enough to learn the game with. Ibuki and Yun on the otherhand, I like fast, rushdown type characters with basic inputs. And because I can't really FADC out of a move all that well, they seem like the perfect characters for me to use and they're fun.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
Like I said, ever since getting back from EVO my attention has been on learning this game as well. And at the moment I'm tinkering with Nova, Spencer, Vergil, and then Spencer, Vergil, Hawkeye. I'm also thinking about Vergil, Dr. Doom, and Hawkeye or Vergil, Taskmaster and Dr. Doom. The variety of characters in this game really makes me like it more and more. Sure there are characters that have an advantage over others but almost every character can really kill you in one touch, and, well, I like that, and it's hype.

Edit: Little Batman and Street Fighter update.

So I finally beat Batman: Arkham City after having it for so long. And I still stand by what I said previously. By no means is Arkham City a bad game. It's just not my cup of tea when it comes to this type of combat. I like my segments to be a little more hectic. The stealth parts were really good though. I doubt if I keep this game long enough to do a New Game+. It left no desire for me to replay it again.

As for SSF4:AE 2012 goes, I tried using Ibuki in training mode, and while I don't want to drop her, but I had to because using her can be really discouraging especially when you can barely do her target combos consistently even though they seem so easy to pull off. I also ended up dropping Yun yet again. Same reason for the most part. So as of now the characters I'm using are Rose, Guy, Cody and Juri. I gotta do some training with Cody because for some reason I cannot chain 3x Cr. Light Punches into Criminal Upper for some reason.

Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition
Another character change update. While I'm sticking with Guy, for the most part I think I've decided to make Guy my main character, but I've also decided to make Fei Long and Able my backups as well. At the moment I'm beginning to go through a little phase, and I'm going to take a break from this game.

Devil May Cry 4
It's been a long time since I've played this and I'm long overdue for it. This time, instead of playing on Human, I've decided to up the difficulty to Devil Hunter, and wouldn't you know, I get my first game over against Berial due to a combination of not remember how to play and rushing in lol.

Games I may get this month:

Sleeping Dogs - I've never been into the GTA series or it's clones but this one looks like it'll be a lot of fun

Persona 4: Arena - Big fan of the Guilty Gear series, and from the videos I've been watching this looks like a lot of fun. This, Marvel vs Capcom 3, and King of Fighters are probably what I really need in my fighting games. High octane action where you can get punished for blocking so much.

Darkstalkers 2 - Hated the first installment. This one looks 10x better.

Recently I started to play Sleeping Dogs which is really interesting and it’s like a GTA.

Last post was in September... Anyway, there was an error in that post. Should've been Darksiders 2, not Darkstalkers.

Anywho, I've acquired Sleeping Dogs, Persona 4: Arena, and Darksiders 2. I've yet to play Persona 4. I like Darksiders 2 a lot. A big step up from the first installment. Sleeping Dogs, I'll just say I don't care for the game at all.

As for what I've been playing.

Bleach: Soul Resurrection (sp?)
It's very flawed. To be a Dynasty Warrior rip off, it certainly failed in having the amount of characters that you usually see in a Dynasty Warriors game. Of the huge cast of characters that're in Bleach only 19 (+1 hidden character) characters have been included. Not to mention they are already in bankai or have already released. Then the story is very short. Considering how long Bleach is they could've easily started off at the beginning of the series, but despite all of that (and how terrible it is to play as Yoruichii) it's a lot of fun. It's been a long time since I've played a Dynasty Warriors game, and I forgot how fun it can be just to run from point a to point b hacking away loads of enemies (another part where this game fails at)

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
This has been holding my attention for the last week or 2. I don't practice like I should and for the most part I can't because I work from 3pm to 11:30pm, and by the time I get in I'm ready to go to sleep. Anyway, the game is pure fun. There's no steep learning curve like Street Fighter 4, however, you do have to time your moves since it's easy to mess up and lose the game because of a dropped combo. Lot's of characters to choose from, and from the massive roster my character choices are Dante and Vergil. I'm working on my 3rd character. I'm a big DMC fan (my favorite series) so obviously I'm gonna choose them. As for my third character I'm going to be trying out Hawkeye, Dr. Doom, Magneto, Amaterasu, Taskmaster, Trish, Zero, and Spencer. Whoever it is will make up my A team. My B team will probably be Spencer, Vergil, Hawkeye, and my C team will be Dante, Amaterasu, Magneto/Dr. Doom. Not too different from my last post about this game. Dante is a lot of fun as well as Amaterasu. I watch a lot of videos as well, and they keep me motivated to play the game because I want to learn how to do this stuff.

There aren't too many new games I want at the moment. I did want Halo 4 and Hitman, but both games haven't really sold me, or rather I'm not in a hurry to get either one. The game I'm after now is Okami HD. I liked it on the ps2 even though I never finished it.
