RE: Official "#ToonamisBackBitches" Thread
I agree with Aaron. I'm not exactly thrilled about the return of the block because ever since I got word of it coming back I've been thinking what could they possibly air to get me interested? To be honest, I can't really think of anything because I have everything I want on dvd so replaying a bunch of old anime titles will do nothing (at least for me), while at the same time I'm not too keen on all the new series that've been coming out lately either. (I've been in an anime slump for about a year now)
With that said, I won't completely ignore this either. I think it'll be interesting to see what shows will be airing on the block. Current Games Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: Wesker, Spencer/Dante/Vergil, Hawkeye |

Check out this recent Twitter conversation from Toonami co-creator, Jason DeMarco.

Well Adult Swim is partly in control of this, so you have to note weither we get something good or something bad, but I figure this is something that will be decited on Williams Street's hands here, not to CN.

Of course...it sucks that none of us will be getting any sleep that night... Of course, this means for the next week the internet will be filled with FANTASY TOONAMI SCHEDULES, and to me there is no greater bane on the Toonami community than endless posts and tweets of inane (and often unrealistic) schedules. RE: Official "#ToonamisBackBitches" Thread
Surprise scheduling is an interesting idea, although I suppose it'll only work for the one/premiere week. I'm really hoping that they try zeroing in on a new, refashioned "spirit" of Toonami and take it from there (or better yet, hand it off to someone with a passion to take it from there).
In the least, maybe they'll lend an hour or so to quality anime programming they gave only one run to, such as Moribito. |

Well apparently it seems ToonZone is ahead of that, plus their boards are too busy it can't load tje board, instead a message popups on it, so that means they are very active over there since the announcement, yet the ASMB is a bit quiet at the moment, at least until the next hour or 2.

RE: Official "#ToonamisBackBitches" Thread
I really enjoy Toonami and watched it faithfully from 2000-2008, through the good times and the bad.
The world is a different place than it was back then. The majority of people have broadband internet now and with it access to just about any anime Toonami can show before it airs. I still remain hopeful that people will still tune in and that Adult Swim will treat Toonami better than Cartoon Network did in its later years. |

RE: Official "#ToonamisBackBitches" Thread
Anime News Network reports that Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins will be on the premiere Saturday schedule.
Deadman Wonderland has been released everywhere but the U.S. (or at least, that's how it can feel sometimes), and it feels like it's been forever since FUNimation licensed the anime, even though it was just last summer. In any case, I'm looking forward to this tale of a kid who is framed for murder and sent far away to a privately owned penitentiary where gruesome battles weed out weaklings. Dystopic fun. Casshern Sins is a terrible series, and will undoubtedly bore some 85% of its audience to sleep that late at night. It's also a bit of dystopic fun, but the good 'ol fashion robot ultraviolence is vastly overshadowed by brooding, amnesiac leads without any real motive. |
