Enjoy! RE: Toonami Talkback: Deadman Wonderland - "Wretched Egg" - Red X Robin - 07-09-2012 02:40 AM Man, I was so distracted while watching this episode. I couldn't get into it completely because my mind kept wandering somewhere else nearly the whole time. Here is some of what I remember:
So, yeah, that's it. I can't possibly give this episode an accurate rating until I rewatch it.
RE: Toonami Talkback: Deadman Wonderland - "Wretched Egg" - Cody S. - 07-09-2012 12:36 PM Compared to the insanity that has been occurring on a near weekly basis, this episode was fairly low-key. Maybe it's me, but I'm finding the rules of their 'world' are getting a bit muddled - where in the beginning Deadman Wonderland really felt like a prison, now it just kind of feels that all the characters are wandering around some underground base. They just kind of go where ever they want. You've got the warden doing her thing - but it's completely separate from all the prisoners; It doesn't seem like they're being supervised or managed, and despite the fact that I know they can't get 'out', they don't really seem...imprisoned. That aside, I guess you've got to have episodes where you can stop and take a breath; it wasn't bad - but I'm looking forward to what happens next with the crazy monk guitar guy. (Also - actions to live by. When attacked by a dog, have someone pencil dive onto it's back and say 'TA DA') RE: Toonami Talkback: Deadman Wonderland - "Wretched Egg" - Aaron B. - 07-09-2012 09:10 PM (07-09-2012 02:40 AM)Red X Robin Wrote: * Are those new characters?I love the concept of a cell hidden within Wonderland that's working to tear the entire thing apart... but I do kind of wish we met some of these folks earlier. I don't think these realities are entirely inconsistent in the anime, but they are certainly in desperate need of some clarification. Personally, I'm kind of hoping that when Makina, the warden, starts cracking some skulls, we'll get our answers. Also, I agree, TA DA is definitely the way to seal the deal when saving a friend form being mauled by a large animal. That's why it was so difficult for me to get into this episode. It simply wasn't insane enough. I expect my Deadman Wonderland to be sheer madness every week, dammit! (07-09-2012 09:10 PM)Aaron H. Not sure if that dog was ever able to walk again. |
