Always striving to connect with their viewing audience in one way or another, whether that be through the inter net, on-air promotions or at high-attendance summer conventions, Adult Swim, over these past few years thanks, in-part, their connection with the fans for their increasing success. Most recently, Adult Swim Online has announced a new means of connecting their programming directors and creative producers with the viewing audience: askAS. Opening up the office doors of Adult Swim to anyone willing to send an e-mail, Adult Swim asked viewers what was on their minds. Animation fans were encouraged to send in questions to
The first two individuals to whom viewers were able to send in questions were Kim Manning and Nick Weidenfeld. Ms. Manning is currently active in acquiring and scheduling Japanese animation and ASA overall. Weidenfeld is the chief in charge of program development for ASC, and is presently working on a new show for Adult Swim entitled That Crook'd 'Sip. Because of the open e-mail policy, Adult Swim received a huge volume of letters; and, generous beyond mention, Adult Swim published twenty questions posed to Manning and a smiliar amount to Weidenfeld.
The entire list of questions, and the responses Kim Manning and Nick Weidenfeld offered, are currently available in Animation Insider's Adult Swim Forum. Questions regarding these employees' and other directors' approach to acquisitions, schedule organization, broadcast competition and much more are available for reading. Continually achieving success with its total delivery as well with its general results in ratings per demographic, Adult Swim's first quarter is looking rather well. With this new means of interacting with the viewing audience, many animation fans feel that they are finally able to get into the minds of those in charge of television programming like never before.
