Premiere Ratings

Cartoon Network's newest original animated television series, Ben 10 premiered to double-digit gains on the network. The new series about a ten-year-old boy whose discovery of a wristband that grants him the ability to transform into ten different, alien superheroes is taking the cartoon world by storm, aspiring to become another great series for those interested in super hero and science fiction animation. Additionally, the Network's brand spanking new Saturday morning programming block debuted to an increased demographic as well; serving as quality competition to what has become a resurgence in old school Saturday morning cartoons.

Cartoon Network presented its newest original series, the action-adventure-driven Ben 10, with a Saturday morning (10-11 a.m.) premiere featuring two half-hour episodes that averaged significant double-digit increases across kids 6-11, kids 2-11 and tweens 9-14, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research. The story of a 10-year-old boy with the newly-found ability to morph into 10 different alien beings, each with its own super powers, Ben 10 outperformed each of its year-ago time periods, a strong indication for its future success at its regularly scheduled time slot on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. A total of 6,354,000 unduplicated viewers caught a presentation of Ben 10 over its combined weekend airings. Highlights of Ben 10's outstanding performance averages vs. the same Saturday morning time periods in 2005 include the following:

  • Kids 6-11 delivery (926,000) increased by 29%, and ratings (3.8) by 27%
