Star Wars: Droid War is a project brewing under the guidance of Northrop and several other individuals originally associated with the previously mentioned Day of the Pigman film. While Northrop is working as an associate producer over at Fatkat Animation Studios, this interesting venture works as convenient side work to make sure the animator and his colleagues are always on their toes. The project is a fan-film by all means, however, that doesn't mean that it won't be give the most professional care during its production. Chris Northrop loves the several legacies and sagas interwoven throughout Star Wars, and what better way for an animator to further develop his affection for a work than to transfer the property to a medium they have experience in.
Aiming for high-quality, broadcast television value animation, this particular project will hopefully be released throughout the month of August 2005. Not overlooking the small things that make good quality animated shorts so great, the staffing behind Star Wars: Droid War plans to utilize top notch voice acting talent in tandem with their professional animation approach. The short will be four minutes in length, and will include stars from the famous Cartoon Network aired Star Wars: Clone Wars saga such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and of course, the infamous General Grievous.
The character and set designs for Star Wars: Droid War will follow in step with Clone Wars, offering viewers something familiar, yet still quite fresh. Traditionally and digitally animated, the animated short will be directed by Chris Northrop and executive produced by Mark Tordik. While a good deal of the staff for Star Wars: Droid War consists of Northrop, Tordik, and other individuals well associated with the Day of the Pigman project, Star Wars: Droid War nevertheless includes a wide variety of talented and skilled individuals from all over the industry. Other staffers granting their talent--artistic, musical, or otherwise--have worked on programs such as the Cartoon Network aired Scooby-Doo related programs, and Nickelodeon's ever so popular comedy series The Fairly OddParents.
