Nick at Sea in Asia-Pacific 2012

Nickelodeon at Sea has taken kids and families across the Mediterranean, through the Caribbean, and beyond. Although most viewers of the children's TV and multimedia group no doubt blush at character breakfasts, gaming halls, and advanced series screenings, parents are encouraged just as much to enjoy private dining halls and resident musical performances. In any case, Nickelodeon at Sea will be touring Asia this coming autumn and winter season, courtesy of Star Cruises.

Nickelodeon at Sea has most recently set sail under the banner of the Norwegian Cruise Line, lining up seven-day excursions to the Bahamas or southern Europe. Now vacationers find a delightful return of focus to southern Asia, where Star Cruises has made plans for individuals touring the more elegant and scenic waters surrounding Singapore and Malaysia. Star Cruises, which is owned by the same travel destination corporation as Norwegian Cruise Line, reported high success with its SpongeBob at Sea cruise event last year, and hopes to do more than simply duplicate the promotion's success this time around.

"Based upon the success of 2011's SpongeBob at Sea with Star Cruises, it became clear that there is strong demand to create richer family-friendly at sea experiences for passengers," Indra Suharjono, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Viacom Int'l Media Networks Asia.

"By launching Nickelodeon At Sea and leveraging our audiences' passion for Nickelodeon characters creates a unique customer offering in the tourism marketplace, one that is bound to have kids of all ages excited."

The departures for this upcoming cruise experience are slated between November and December 2012. As such, participating family vacation experiences should look to make the most of interactive deck activities, treasure hunts, themed pajama game nights, and specially-created breakfast and high-tea menu items based upon key Nickelodeon hit properties (e.g., SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer). Of course, the cruise ships scheduled to depart for this new tour of Asia, the SuperStar Virgo and SuperStar Libra, will host all the usual cookie workshops, pool parties, lounge performances, and arts and crafts exercises that travelers have grown accustomed to. According to Star Cruises, the Virgo has a carrying capacity of nearly 1,900 passengers.
