The Disney Store, of The Walt Disney Co., has spent the past few weeks detailing the summer and prospective autumn 2012 rollout of a new designer collection based on six iconic villains from the media entity's animated film archive. Although the international fashion community has no short array of cartoon branded jewelry, cotton apparel, or facial cosmetics, Disney or otherwise, perhaps the company's lady villains represent an untapped resource. According to the company, following the commercial success of the Disney Princess Designer Collection (2011), this year's unveiling of the Disney Villains Designer Collection is the next step in offering limited edition designer products.

The collection will also include more basic wares, such as collectible mugs, note pads, and a lithograph set; however, at the top of the list rests the collection's slickly redesigned, limited edition designer dolls.
The dolls, standing nearly one foot tall, will be produced in quantities of 13,000 each and will hit select brick and mortar and online retail shops (DisneyStore.com) starting August 2012 ($79.50 ea.). Adorned with elaborate make-up, bejeweled gowns, and in the case of Ursula a disproportionately thinner redesign, the doll collection purportedly speaks to power and prowess that these cartoon characters have historically possessed.
Last year, The Walt Disney Co. recorded an estimated $31.5 billion in worldwide retail sales, the most of any global licensor by several billions of dollars.
Additional consumer products bearing the visage of these re-designed and re-imagined characters include stationary and home products, perhaps just in time for back-to-school shopping.
The pens, note card sets, and note pad sets include sketch artwork of the new fashion designs. The note card set includes two dozen cards, envelopes, and envelope seals. Apparel lines, from rhinestone t-shirts to glittery tote bags, will also be available. According to Disney, the apparel and accessories will launch exclusively at DisneyStore.com in August 2012. Disney Store re-imagines six of Disney’s original "bad girls" in all of their fashionable villainy. Each of these glamorous dolls stands at 11.5" tall and comes in a collectible box with display stand.
