'Sally Bollywood' Animation News

Sally and Dowee are kind of used to getting into trouble on weekends and during vacations. Apparently, in the course of running your own detective agency, that'll happen every once in a while. In Sally Bollywood, Sally and her best pal do their best to keep in step with criminal shenanigans that are of appropriate scale for the junior investigators. According to a recent news release from Zodiak Kids (Redakai, Secret Ranch), the media group's animation production house TeleImages Prods. has been provided with the official go-ahead for a full second season of Sally Bollywood. The producers anticipate new television sales to add up now that an additional slate of fifty-two stories have been greenlit.

Sally Bollywood admires and respects her father, Harry, who is the local gumshoe. The girl knows well that the work of a private detective can be a rough, dangerous, and altogether quite a fun job. As such, Sally pledges to put her own super-snooping skills to good use by forming SBI (Sally Bollywood Investigations), a detective agency for kids. Sally Bollywood, as an animated comedy, has been airing throughout Europe, Australia, and Asia for a few years now [past A.I. news: "Sally Bollywood Animation News" (06/2010)]. Sally searches for lost homework assignments and settles disputes among her adolescent friends, but each comical interlude is often a little more curious and a little more precarious than the last.

"We are excited to be working on this second season of Sally Bollywood," Philippe Alessandri, Chief Executive Officer, TeleImages Productions, commented.

"The re-commission not only demonstrates the success of the series itself, but it is also a lot of fun to write and produce."

The second season of Sally Bollywood is currently in pre-production and includes an additional fifty-two episodes (x11 minutes). This will bring the total episode order of the animated television series to 104 episodes.

According to Zodiak Kids, delivery of the EUR 5.3m ($6.7m) budget series is currently scheduled for early 2013.

Sally and Dowee aren't always on top of things, but they certainly try their best. Sally's athletic and acrobatic approach to chasing down a bad guy is kind of different from Dowee's (who would prefer the use of a gadget to running and jumping over a bike rack any day), but the duo make a good team, and must sometimes rely on the experience of Sally's father to bail them out if the kids get in over their head (which happens more often than not, it would seem). Sally Bollywood's second season has already been presold to Super RTL (Germany), Disney Channel (France; Germany), France Televisions (France), and Network 7 (Australia). New broadcast additions include CSC Media's PopGirl TV (UK), which has acquired both seasons of the cartoon.
