Thanksgiving Day Weekend at Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon and it's on-air sister networks are well-ready to offer their annual cornucopia of television animation with their 2009 "Superstuffed Nicksgiving Weekend." Always including a relatively decent variety of established cartoon titles and newly released animated comedies, Thanksgiving Day weekend brings a bit of everything for Nickelodeon's audience. Marathons of award-winning animation, premieres of hit new series', and re-broadcasts of popular theatrical presentations.... this year's "Superstuffed Nicksgiving Weekend" has another full schedule at the ready.

The Holiday weekend will sport a bevy of notable Nickelodeon cartoons: SpongeBob SquarePants: The Movie, Iron Man: Armored Adventures, Avatar: the Last Airbender, and several hours of themed programming will decorate the coming week. "Superstuffed Weekend" officially runs from Thursday, November 26th through the following Sunday evening. Highlights include the following (additional details are available on the following page of this AnimationInsider.net news article; all times Eastern):

On Saturday (28th), for example, Nickelodeon's newest computer animation Fanboy & Chum Chum will offer up the latest adventure of its spandex-wearing pre-teen superheroes. In one of the series' new episodes, "Chimp Chomp Chumps," Fanboy and Chum Chum delight in tormenting a local bully by purchasing the final few tickets to next big movie release (after all, what better way to combat a new villain than to withhold his greatest desire?). Meanwhile, in "Precious Pig," the boys are tasked with taking care of the class' pot-bellied pig, Precious. Their next task? Teach Precious the latest cool martial arts trick.

Elsewhere, Nicktoons [Network] has lined up a slew of programming blocks and marathons for the Holiday weekends, capped with new episodes of Fantastic Four (27th), Iron Man: Armored Adventures (28th), and Wolverine and the X-Men (29th). Nicktoons will air a marathon of Avatar: the Last Airbender on November 26th, beginning Noontime (ET); the cable network will air the entire first season of the Peabody-award winning television animation, from start to finish.
