Wayne is pretty darn good at his job. So much so, that Wayne has been a key cog in the crew and organization that coordinates The Big Guy as he sleighs around on Christmas Eve to everyone's house on that special, chilly evening year after year. Being a Christmas elf isn't easy, but when you've been at it for a few hundred years, you tend to get things down sooner rather than later. In the new CG animated television special Lanny and Wayne the Christmas Elves in Prep & Landing, Disney and executive producer John Lasseter deliver what many hope is a refreshing inclusion of the usual Holiday staples.Santa's operation is a high-technology driven organization of hard workers. Wayne in particular operates as a part of Prep & Landing, the group of elves responsible for ensuring that each snowy rooftop is safe for the sleigh on Christmas Eve. The Prep & Landing crew is also responsible for securing the surrounding environment for The Big Guy (aka Santa); as such, equipped with an assortment of gadgets, like candy-cane grappling hooks, the Prep & Landing crew is a key extension of the North Pole headquarters office.
In Prep & Landing, we find Wayne, whose work in the P&L division for 227 years has him itching for something a little different. Wondering if he's maxed out his potential in preparing and landing reindeer year after year, Wayne applies for the open position of Director of Naughty List Intelligence. Wayne has the experience, so the job is in the bag, right? Not quite so. Santa awards the position to someone else, and Wayne is feeling less and less in the Holiday spirit as a result. Pouring salt on the wound, Wayne is assigned to partner up this year with Lanny, an over-excited rookie whose zeal no doubt contrasts the experience of the matter-of-fact Wayne.
The computer animated Holiday special Prep & Landing is a production of Walt Disney Animation Studios, and is scheduled to premiere on ABC come
