Specifically partnering with Lea Industries, a Greensboro, North Carolina-based division of La-Z-Boy, Nickelodeon will be involved in the design, manufacture, and retail of an impressively wide selection of themed bedroom and office furniture. From bureaus to armoires, from entertainment centers to office display cases, Nick furniture is angling to take their animation character branding to the next level.
"Nickelodeon gives kids a home base on TV, and our new collections will soon give them a more kid-friendly environment within their own home," Jack Richardson, President, Lea Industries and stated. "[Nickelodeon] is an extremely powerful brand that will translate well into youth furniture."
Reportedly aiming for mid-level price points upon release to retailers in Spring 2010, the Nickelodeon furniture is currently scheduled for release at three tiers/demographics: (Ages 3-7) will include furniture headlined by SpongeBob SquarePants, Go, Diego, Go!, and Dora the Explorer. (Ages 7-11) will sport "more stylized and silhouetted" SpongeBob SquarePants graphics, as well as Nickelodeon-proper brands including the splat logo and other slime-related designs. (12+), the TEENick line, will focus on the tween and teen market and similarly service young persons with themed furniture for a more contemporary social environment.
Whether looking for a lounge set to redesign your pad just like the apartment of iCarly, or eager to dazzle other parents by decking out a child's entire room with The Wonder Pets! or other Nick Jr. Brands, Nickelodeon and Lea Industries is looking to lend a helping hand. Here, the English dovetail drawers and side-mounted ball bearing drawer guides will take a backseat to a host of Nickelodeon's best-recognized logos, trademarks, icons and graphics
