Taffy Titles Travel Further Abroad

Brand management and worldwide distribution group Taffy Entertainment, a MoonScoop Group company, recently came into some quality broadcast deals that will see some popular television animation reaching deeper into select markets across eastern European and Latin American territories. A key proponent to the increasingly popular dissemination of animated programming produced in a variety of countries, to other territories not as familiar with such content, Taffy Entertainment has been showing considerable growth over the past few years.

Within the month, Taffy Entertainment has sealed a number of deals with Canada-based HOLA Entertainment, expanding their reach into free-TV Latin America. This is in anticipation of bolstering an existing agreement for video distribution signed roughly years ago and includes titles such as the 2D/CG hybrid adventure series Code Lyoko and The Fantastic Four (2006). Elsewhere, Taffy Ent. has signed on the dotted line with new partners at the now past DISCOP market for central and eastern European television regions; such deals affect titles such as the Mike Young Productions' title Pet Alien and preschool animation Dive ! Olly! Dive!.

"The Latin America market has been an area of tremendous growth for us," Marie Conge, Senior Vice President, International Sales at Taffy Entertainment, stated. "Our partnership with HOLA Entertainment has already paid huge dividends and we're thrilled that broadcasters are responding to the high-quality entertainment value in our programming. We are also confident these shows will prove to be outstanding additions to the lineups for each broadcaster."

The MARVEL property revival found in The Fantastic Four, which currently airs on Cartoon Network Latin America and TV Globo (Brazil), will find an additional home on Canal 7 Teletica (Costa Rica), TV6 (Trinidad), and Ecuavisa (Ecuador) thanks to this most recent deal. Also, along with the animated series Dr. Dog, Taffy Entertainment has signed on to gift The Fantastic Four to free TV channel LNK (Lithuania).

Kids science exploration series Dive! Olly! Dive! will swim to new shores on Urania (Czech Republic and Slovakia); with Blitz Films (Croatia) alongside fellow Taffy series SamSam (ex-Yugoslavia); Ecuavisa (Ecuador); and CBC (Barbados), which also picked up Creepie (known in other territories as Growing Up Creepie) as well.

"The Eastern European markets are continuing to grow and we're happy to be meeting their ever-growing demand for quality children's programming," Ms. Conge continued. "All of these new sales are for brands that have already been successful in other territories, so we are confident this trend will continue for our newest partners."

Other broadcast sales on the part of Taffy Entertainment include the ever popular Code Lyoko on TV6 (Trinidad) and Ecuavisa (Ecuador), which serves as a good buffer to recent news of the property's expansion into other media [recent A.I. news: "Atlantyca & Taffy Partner for 'Code Lyoko' Novels"]. The computer animated series Casper's Scare School has also been acquired by S.D.T. (Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia).
