Most recently the vp of promotions marketing and sponsorships for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, Shields now makes the transition over into the Animation, Young Adults & Kids Media area (which covers both cable net and digital net reach), further expanding her current duties. Jill Shields, as the Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Promotions, a newly created position, will additionally be in charge of the development and execution of key promotional and marketing programs associated with Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and their related digital counterparts with the goal of supporting branded properties across multiple platforms.

In her new position, Shields will supervise all of the young media group's special events and trade marketing activity (such as the annual Upfront presentations). With an emphasis on expanding Cartoon Network and Adult Swim brands into the global market, profitably, Jill Shields is looking to use her experience in managing large client partnerships and developing of national advertiser promotional programs to her advantage.
She has been with Turner Broadcasting since the year 2000, initially serving as a consultant in New Media for Cartoon Network. She later served as a senior manager of promotions marketing and sponsorships for Cartoon Network New Media, and eventually, in 2004, as vice president of the division.
The promotion of Jill Shields comes less than a week after Cartoon Network found it necessary to restructure the general, executive management of its Ad Sales and related promotions departments [recent A.I. news: "Cartoon Network Restructuring Continues; Ad Sales Adjusted"]. During which time Cartoon Network promoted two of its key contributors in sales and promotions, while letting go three other individuals. The executive shuffling continues as the network continually espies its consolidation as a measure to secure better focus and growth in areas critical to its many brands' global expansion.
