CBS and DiC Land in KEWLopolis

Seeking to represent another facet of broadcast television's new strategy for winning back Saturday mornings, CBS and DiC Entertainment have announced the results of a new re-branding effort for a Saturday morning children's television block of programming. The need to attract eyeballs in the early hours on the weekends has grown over the past few years, apart from a lull late in the past decade. DiC Entertainment, a constant supplier of children's programming that often fits business models designed for broad youth appeal, has been key to this programming block's development in particular.

KEWLopolis, as the programming effort be called, is scheduled to begin mid-September of this year and will feature a large amount of animated programming, most of which however is still skewed towards girl demographics.

The programming block will contain a good amount of television animation based on older properties while other shows will stem from more modern production and merchandising efforts; all titles of which have the superb opportunity to connect with audiences on additional, multimedia levels.

Newer shows such as Care Bears: Adventures in Care-A-Lot, Horseland and Strawberry Shortcake will likewise be colliding head-on with Sushi Pack and Dino Squad. KEWLopolis launches on the CBS Television Network Saturday, September 15th, 2007 at 7:00am.

The Saturday morning line-up for the 2007-2008 season will be evolving throughout the fall months; however, a schedule is revealed below, with program descriptions and the like on the following pages of this AnimationInsider.net news article.
