Flip City, a labyrinth of a network of roller coaster tracks and ever-winding steel paths, is occupied by a race of robots. These robots possess arms and legs that extend from and retract into an otherwise spherical body, which allows them to travel throughout Flip City at high speeds with great efficiency. As the setting for Rollbots, this city is rather simple and peaceful, making use of trade and barter systems as their base for social networking and other communal interactions. The tribal organization and hierarchical arrangement makes it rather simple for communities to deal out responsibilities and to make sure order is maintained. Unfortunately, such a city makes things rather difficult for an orphan, such as Spin, Rollbots' main character.

The fastest rollbot in the city and always eager to help out, Spin helps the CopBots in their daily work and becomes engrossed with not just crime fighting, but of the adventures that also come with tracking organized crime and stopping one of the more dangerous rollbots and his goal of seizing a dozen mysterious artifacts. The computer animated adventure about finding one's place in a culture so accurately defined by its organizational structure as well as the story of a young bot's destiny as interwoven in the mysterious of a dynamic City, Rollbots is a children's program packed with action and adventure, reportedly scheduled to roll out by Fall 2008.
"We are very excited to be moving forward with Rollbots," Jonathan Wiseman, vice president of sales & acquisitions at Amberwood Entertainment commented in a press article. "YTV has been a fantastic partner throughout development of the property and their support will help us to introduce a fresh new brand to the market place." The Rollbots computer animation, focused on the Kids 6-11 demographic, initially went into development back in the latter portion of the 2005-year. This program was developed and is now in production for an anticipated international market. "We are very excited to be partnering with YTV on this fresh and unique concept and anticipate a great shelf life for the Rollbots brand," Wiseman stated, at the time of the development announcement.
The format for Rollbots is that of twenty-six half-hour episodes of computer television animation. The Amberwood Animation production has a reportedly robust budget for bringing to life this property: US$10 million. Rollbots is based on an original idea by Michael Mulligan, with scriptwork guided by story editor Vito Viscomi (Yakkity Yak). The series may not hit the airwaves until later in 2008, but the program's friendly designs and playful nature have lent to early discussions with television networks and broadcasters in the United States and Europe in addition to potential conversations with toy production companies.
