This line of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends licensed merchandise will rest in softlines--which includes a line of knit tops, fleece tops and t-shirts for the juniors and tweens demographics.
After all, who wouldn't want a t-shirt with Cheese all over it?
The clever humor of the popular animated television series created by Craig McCracken, which follows a young boy and his best friends at a foster home, for imaginary friends, seems like prime material for an intelligently designed clothing line. Mighty Fine, Cartoon Network Enterprises' partner in this endeavor, is a fashion design studio that is also working with CNE on other, similarly structured design/merchandising deals.
"Mighty Fine is the right partner for Cartoon Network, bringing some of our most popular characters – including The Powerpuff Girls and now Foster's to their specialty and high-end boutique clients" Christina Miller, Vice President of Consumer Products for CNE commented. "Foster's humor and style has a broad appeal and Mighty Fine will bring these characters to a wider fan base." The designs of the clothing are currently expected to blend style and fashion with the unique humor of the animated television series. The designs are also expected to appeal to the junior's demographic and will be sold with a market sales retail price ranging between $25.00 to $60.00 through related, upscale department stores. The deal reached between Cartoon Network Enterprises and Mighty Fine is a multi-year deal.
"We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Cartoon Network," Justin Watson Marketing Director Mighty Fine stated. "Bloo, Coco, Wilt and all of the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends family have found a good home with Mighty Fine and we can't wait to introduce them to our retail friends."
